WYSi-WE (What You See is What Emerged): Surprise, Control, Real

WYSi-WE was designed using an iterative, collage-like process of data-bending to visualize the edge effects of human networks. Photographs and texts related to society, culture, politics, faith, sexuality, gender and economy were sourced online from both ‘north’ and ‘south’ geographic points of origin. The process redefines existing conditions at the micro-level of code bits, and these compositions display ‘northern’ attitudes literally converging with those from traditionally ‘southern’ locales. The project invites critique and reflection on the chaotic disruptions and unexpected harmonies that may occur when disparate people and places meet, build, debase and stir.
