True North embodies the rich and diverse Native Canadian culture—a culture that emphasizes not only living sustainably, but also living in complete harmony with nature. As an Aboriginal designer I feel I have a responsibility to use my art to reflect upon and generate discussions of critical social issues and cultural phenomena. Fashion is a highly influential medium that is a powerful social tool, an instant language that is used in our everyday lives. By fusing tradition with modernism, I hope to illustrate how the North has developed with the modern world through fashion.
