This contribution showcases community- engaged design processes born out of the artivists 4 life youth collective. By privileging collaborative, inter-cultural and inter-epistemic ways of being and doing, and the forms of agency they encourage, our contribution has the goal of de-linking from dominant conceptions of what design should be and what it should do. By presenting and discussing Okoth’s Dream, a children’s story co-authored and co-designed from
our unique southern/African/Ugandan/youth/artivist vantage—we invite our “northern” audiences to experience the potential of design to opening up new modes of inter-action.
