This work challenges the traditional notion of seating. It endeavors to conceptualize and critique our responsibility as designers to respect and engage with sustainability, be that from a political standpoint or from a pluralistic viewpoint, the work reflects on and reveals a conversation for design that is about content, connecting an audience with a way of thinking. The work deals with aspects of performative space and interaction, the unlikely, the unintentional, the random. This particular work uses up-cycling to describe, confirm and contest the phenomenon as it exists today. I would like to think that we are now moving into a time where physicality and materiality are again valued as important aspects of our lives and collective futures, where objects can have content, narrative and communicate issues that have traditionally been removed from the designed experience.
